Ian-ism

Ian, Mommy, & Daddy are browsing at Barnes & Noble in the local mall:

Ian says to Mommy: "I want to go to the stick store."
Mommy: "What?"
Ian: "I want to go to the stick store."
Mommy: "The stick store?"
Ian: "Yeah, the stick store."
Mommy: "Why do you want to go to the stick store?"
Ian : "I want to get a stick."
Mommy: "You want to get a stick?"
Ian: "Yeah, I want to get a stick... and eat it."
Mommy: "You want to eat it?"
Ian: "Yeah."

Daddy:"What's going on?"
Mommy, shrugging her shoulders: "Ian wants to go to the stick store."
Daddy: "The stick store? Okaaay."

... Five minutes later, we leave the book store and walk through the mall ...

Ian, excitedly: "It's the stick store!"
Mommy, looking all around: "Where?"
Ian: "Right here!"
We look straight ahead at Auntie Anne's pretzels ...
Mommy: "A pretzel stick!"
Ian: "Yeah!"
Mommy and Daddy: "Ha ha ha ha."

We didn't get any sticks, but now we know.
